Would you like 15 minute
consultation about your situation?
I offers a complimentary 15 minute consultation about your unique case where I can briefly review your situation and offer you initial treatment options and/or make referrals to best address your particular situation. The help you need may be just a phone call away!
You create your own life, but sometimes life throws you a loop and you can’t see how to create the life you want.
When you’re happy, fulfilled, and living the life of your dreams, it’s much easier to achieve goals, be a contributing member of society, and be helpful to others. Your well-being and enthusiasm make great natural fuel for innovation, positive interactions, and deeper connections with others.
But, from time to time, problems emerge that can feel overwhelming. Troubles and trying situations that you can’t seem to solve on your own or by waiting them out. Life can hand you one-time events that shake you to the core, difficult family situations, or deal you a hand that you can’t seem to overcome. Leaving one to question who they are and why is this happening to me.
If your usual support system isn’t enough to help you move through the trying times, you can begin to live a shadow of the life you should be living. At times like these, an objective and unbiased, trained therapist can help you find a path to hope, happiness, and healing.
An experienced therapist can help identify thinking and behavioral patterns and uncover blocks that prevent you from experiencing happiness and achieving results. The therapist can help you process life transitions and disappointments, including grief and loss, help you gain new perspectives, improve the quality of your relationships, and reclaim your sense of personal power.
From time to time, everyone can use a little help.
My goal in individual counseling is to prepare clients for healthy change and move from the path of overwhelm that they’re on to a path of clarity and empowerment. Clients and I work together to help identify the situation, find and implement solution(s), clear blocks, and create a safe place for change to thrive.

Looking Back to Move Forward

Grief & The Holidays
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” These lyrics by Andy Williams belong to one of the most famous holiday songs and will surely be blaring in a department store near you soon (if not already). Sadly, for many, these words will sting for the first time this...
Addictions: Beyond Drinking & Drugs
A few years ago, TLC aired a show called “My Strange Addiction.” It featured rare, abnormal, and downright bizarre addictions that some people have. A few particularly strange ones included: eating sand, drinking paint, chewing on rubber from tires, eating glass,...
Breaking Up With the Lies We Believe
Hollywood has given us some fairly famous breakups: Angelina and Brad, Sonny and Cher. And when it comes to breakups, you’ve probably heard the line (or were the one to deliver it), “It’s not you. It’s me.” But sometimes that’s just not true. Sometimes it’s not you...
Braving the Bully – Victory & Power in Truth
As parents, we’ve sat through countless Disney and superhero movies. Every plot plays out the same. Villain bullies and preys on protagonist. Protagonist is just about to give up or be defeated when their inner gift/strength/courage finally bursts through, empowering...
When Feelings Fade – Bringing the Love Back
If you were alive during the Top Gun era, you can probably sing every word to The Righteous Brothers’ “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling.” No judgment and no shame – I’d sing right along with you...and Goose and Maverick, if I could only carry a tune! But losing that...
Gone Astray: Recovering from an Affair
Muhammad Ali couldn’t deliver a right hook quite like the gut-punch you just received. Whether you suspected it or were completely in the dark about it, finding out your spouse has had an affair is a devastating blow. While I don’t have a crystal ball to say exactly...
Grief: Dealing with Sudden Loss
It’s the call you never expected to get. You probably remember exactly where you were and what you were doing when the phone rang and you so casually answered, “Hello.” Maybe you hoped you misunderstood or maybe the clear message on the other end caused you to drop...
Love After Loss: Dating & Remarriage
They say it’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, but what about loving again after you’ve lost? What if you walked the aisle, said, “I do,” and committed yourself to someone for the rest of your life – and then they died? You promised, “Til...
When Our Parents Age
They took care of us when we were sick. They clothed us, housed us, taught us, and loved us. I’m talking about our parents, of course. For many of the folks I work with, their parents have become senior-citizens. This demographic is growing rapidly as we are seeing...
